About

Welcome. This site is my first personal foray into the world of blog design, PHP, CSS, etc. Originally I intended to go with a grunge look: writing on a napkin. The intent was to personify the spontaneous, eager and unrefined nature of ideas. I had it about 75% completed and only needed to add some more detritus to complete the disheveled package. But I found it to be too rough to take seriously. I also decided that the grungy blog look is well past its peak, while clean and elegant almost never go out of style.

I chose Perpetua and Bickahm Script for the identity because they seem to be made for eachother. Not like siblings who look alike, but like lovers who are soulmates but didn’t know it until they met and spent some time together. They have enough in common in stroke variation and precision of letterforms to get along well. But they are so different in stroke angle, as well as mood and style that they have a lot to discuss, I think. And that is what this site is about.

I am a designer of 12 years with a degree in Philosophy who works in marketing. These disciplines all entail communication of ideas. Today, communication is essential to every discipline and societies and cultures are built around people nowhere near each other geographically. The ether is thick with thoughts ranging from 140 or fewer characters apiece to thousands of words to audio and video. It is my desire to not only dip my hand into the ether, but to pour ideas back into the fray; hopefully ideas that promote understanding, creativity, realization and all manner of constructive thinking.

I hope that you enjoy. I hope that you participate. I am just as eager to hear your ideas as I am to share my own.
